Last Friday, on May 30th, at Miygi Record Shop, Dialect Tre & I created something beautiful. It was a visual testament to Dialect's artistry and talent. As well as the very first time I executed my role as Rollout producer and strategist. At the listening party, many people asked, How did I meet Tre, and how did our partnership come into play. Well, it's simple. I don't know which showcase or open mic it was, I've been to several. I heard Dialect Tre spit for the first time. I was deeply moved, hit by a dose of nostalgia, head bobbing, captivated by the flow of her sound, intrigued and motivated by this hard-bodied 5'4 spitter. From that very moment, I just knew I had to work with her; my vision sparked that night. Soon after, I expressed to Dialect Tre that I wanted to work with her on her next project. Not quite sure of what my role would be at the time, I knew I had to help her create & shape her world.
So you see, intention was set from the start: organically, genuinely, and passionately. When I got word that Dialect Tre was finishing her first body of work, Rabbit Season, I knew it was time to get to work. I wanted our foundation to be strong, strong enough to withstand the longevity of our partnership & relationship in support of the project.
Before our call, I attended her intimate Q&A, hosted by the ESO Theater, where I gained a deeper understanding of who she is as a person and artist. Therefore, it was easy for me to create the mood board before the phone call. We then had a first phone call about the project, which had high momentum, after I presented the mood board. We were on the same page, and she expressed how I nailed the vision. After our meeting, the rest of the process went a little like this.
-
Briefing and Contract to protect us both
-
A Two-Part Questionnaire for Dialect Tre:
-
“Mic Check: Yo Message, Yo Mission: This form helps me better understand you as an artist and as a person so that I can develop the best strategy for you and execute my role.”
-
“Play Yo Part: Defining My Role”: This form helps me understand Dialect’s expectations of me and helps me define my role.
Together, we developed the world of Rabbit Season.
I designed the mascot—a hunting rabbit—and built an Instagram rollout strategy around it. I created graphics, advised her to change her profile photo, and even rebranded the Da Hip-Hop Honey page to reflect the campaign. Every post, story highlight, and caption was carefully crafted to reflect the symbolism and intention behind the project.
Rabbit Season Coming Soon, a little BTS of the Hunting Rabbits, and then the listening experience flyer. All graphics created by me.
It was also my idea to incorporate “experience,” rather than just having a listening party, considering how intentionally the project was conceived, with narration and a story. Inviting listeners to hear the finished project in full was indeed an experience. We utilized the collaboration feature on Instagram to showcase our partnership and display the campaign in its entirety from the beginning on the Da Hip-Hop Honey Instagram page. The people were immediately locked in and ready for more.
As the ideas came to fruition, I outlined the next few posts to keep the audience engaged and a part of the journey. I eventually came up with a schedule that allowed us to post in a way that made the content flow and was entertaining. It is safe to say that the strategy has proven to be a success, because numbers don’t lie. Da Hip-Hop Honey numbers have grown significantly in a month, and everyone knew exactly what was going on with Rabbit Season.
Behind the Scenes, I Also:
-
Wrote her bio for streaming platforms

-
Designed the “Hunter’s Mag” IG breakdown
